In Silber ein roter Turm mit drei Zinnen und spitzem Dach, davor eine rote Zinnenmauer mit Eingangstor. Auf der linken Mauerseite ruht ein silberner Helm mit blauem Schwanenrumpf Origin/meaningLichtenau received city rights in 1300 from King Albrecht I. The city belonged until 1803 to the county Hanau-Lichtenberg, and since to Baden(-Württemberg). The arms were granted in 1900 and are derived from the seal of the city, known from 1407-1659. All later seals show the same image, but the swan sometimes is omitted. The helmet and swan are the crest of the Counts of Lichtenberg.
