Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on May 22, 1990.

The arms combine elements of the villages of Leisach and Burgfrieden. The sword is the symbol of St. Michael, the patron saint of Leisach. The red bar in black symbolises the fortress near Burgfrieden, which blocks the valley and which is one of the oldest fortresses in Tirol.
