Wappen von Lehrte/Arms (crest) of Lehrte
Official blazon
German blazon wanted
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

Lehrte became a city in 1898 and the arms were granted in 1927.

The lion is derived from the seal of the combined communities between Hannover, Hildesheim and Peine, dating from the 13th century. The lion is combined with the cross, that symbolises the fact the Lehrte is at an important railway crossing.
