KUCHL

State : Salzburg
District : Hallein

Wappen von Kuchl

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on July 26, 1930.

Kuchl received town rights during the reign of Prince-Bishop Pilgrim of Salzburg (1365-1396), and the arms appear a few decades later on decorations. The deer is most likely derived from the arms of the Knights Kuchler, as 15th century arms of the family also showed a deer.
