Origin/meaning

The church (Kirche) is a canting symbol and also signifies that there was already a church mentioned in the 13th century. The three ploughshares symbolise the agricultural character of the three villages in the municipality. The wavy bend symbolises the Aue river. The base shows a fountain, symbol for the healing waters which were discovered in 1726 and that were used for more than a century. The fountain itself is the local village fountain.
