KÖRNER

State : Thüringen
District (Kreis) : Unstrut-Hainich Kreis (until 1994 Mühlhausen)
Verwaltungsgemeinschaft : Verwaltungsgemeinschaft Schlotheim

Wappen von Körner/Arms (crest) of Körner
Official blazon
German In Grün eine silberne Hand, die vier goldene Kornähren halt.
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on July 22, 1994.

The arms are largely canting, Korn means wheat, a plural would be Körner (a word which does not exist), hence four wheatears. The composition was first found on the local seal from around 1860.

The arms also refer to the agricultural character of the village, which in the early 20th century was one of the main wheat producing villages of the Gotha-region.
