  • (personal half) Argent, a "shaw," or grove of three trees vert, charged with a rose of the field; on a chief of the second an apostolic eagle displayed of the first.

Origin/meaning

As common in US episcopal heraldry, the arms show the arms of the diocese impaled with the personal arms of the bishop.

The personal arms are canting, showing a grove of trees, also known as a shaw.

The achievement is completed with the heraldic insignia of a prelate of the rank of bishop.
