Origin/meaning

The arms show a ship's-hook, most likely as a symbol for the sailing and fishing on the Rhine, which has been of importance to the village. The hook first appears in the seals of the 19th century, but not in a shield. The arms were officially approved in June 1901 in arbitrarily colours.
