HOLUNGEN
State : Thüringen
District (Kreis) : Eichsfeld
Incorporated into : 2011 Sonnenstein
Official blazon
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on July 15, 1994.
The wheel in the first quarter is the wheel of the State of Mainz, as the area historically belonged to Mainz. The third quarter shows some miner's tools, symbol for the potassium mining that has been of great economic importance for the village for many centuries. The cross on the hill in the left half of the arms shows the Sonnenstein-cross on a hill in the municipality.
