(de) Quadriert mit Herzschild; im ersten Feld in Gold der nimbierte Heilige Christophorus in blauem Gewand mit rotem Umhang und mit dem naturfarbenen nimbierten Christuskind auf der Schulter im Wasser stehend, wobei das Christuskind einen silbernen Reichsapfel in seiner Linken hält; im zweiten Feld in Rot eine grüne Tanne zwischen zwei silbernen gestuften Felsen; im dritten Feld in Schwarz gekreuzte goldene Schlägel und Eisen; im vierten Feld, in Silber, greifen zwei fleischfarbene Hände, die aus roten Ärmeln ragen, balkenweise ineinander; der Herzschild ist von Rot und Silber dreimal schrägrechts geteilt.

Origin/meaning

The first quarter shows the old arms of Hohenstein, St. Christopher, the local patron saint. The pine tree and the hands are taken from the old arms of Ernstthal. The miner's tools symbolise the mining in the region. The small shield shows the arms of the Lords of Schönberg, to whom the region belonged in medieval times.
