State : Baden-Württemberg

Hinterza.jpg

Official blazon

In Silber auf grünem Dreiberg eine grüne Tanne, der Dreiberg belegt mit einem rotbordierten schwarzen Schild, darin fünf (2:1:2) silberne Kugeln.

Origin/meaning

The arms were designed and adopted in 1909.

The arms combine a pine tree on a mountain for the geographical location of the municipality, the forests and the Schwarzwald mountains. The small shield shows the arms of the Lords (later Counts) of Sickingen-Hohenburg, who ruled the village from the 16th century until 1808. The only historical seal of the village dates from the mid 19th century and showed only a pine tree.
