Origin/meaningThe arms were granted on June 8, 1813. Historically the seals of the town showed the arms of the Niederalteich Abbey, a mountain with a cross. In 1811 the town used the oldest known arms of the city of Landsberg an der Lech, but these were replaced in 1813 by the present arms. The arms are based on the arms of the Abbey, but are in fact the arms of Abbot Joscio Hamberger (1700-1739).
