Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on February 28, 1995.

The beech is a symbol for the forests in the municipality, which for a large part consist of beech trees. The wavy division line symbolises the Helbe river. The base shows the symbols for the Counts (later Princes) of Schwarzburg, who ruled the village for many years. The comb and fork symbolise the title of Imperial Stable Master held by the Princes.
