Origin/meaning
Haslach was first mentioned as a city in the middle of the 13th century. The oldest seal is known from 1342 and shows already the canting hazel bush (Hasel in German). Ever since the seals and arms of the city have show the hazel. The size, shape and number of hazelnuts, however, has varied widely during the centuries.
