Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on June 22, 1984.

The arms are based on the seal of the Knight Friedrich von Haseldorf from 1255. The family got extict after him, as he became a monk. The colours of the family arms are no longer known, but based on heraldic tradition, the vair is normally shown as blue on silver.

The family ruled a much larger area, but as the name was derived from the village, it was seen as appropriate to use the family arms for the municipality.
