HANINGE

Province (Landskap): Södermanland
County (Län): Stockholms län
Additions : 1971 Österhaninge (1959 Dalarö (1952 Ornö, Utö)), Västerhaninge (1952 Muskö)

Haninge kommunvapen

Official blason

Sköld delad av guld, vari en röd tjädertupp, och av blått, vari ett ankare av guld.

Origin/meaning

The arms were registered in 1985.

The black grouse cock makes these arms canting (hane = rooster), and alludes to the forest Hanveden, which had given the place its name. The anchor stands for the closeness to the sea and the navy base in Berga.
