Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on March 25, 1992.

The red shield is derived from the arms of the Lords of Malberg, who became Lords of Hamm in 1562. The wavy chevron symbolises the Prüm river that flows around the village.

Literature : Wappenbuch der Verbandsgemeinde Bitburg-Land 1995.
