Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on July 1, 1953

The arms indicate with the oak leaves that the village developed in the 19th century in the middle of the forest, and also refer to the current forests. The two large agricultural estates (Schierke and Adolfshof) which, in the middle of the 20th century were merged with the municipality, are represented by the two wheatears.

The anvil symbolises the local industries.

Literature: Rabbow, 1977
