Origin/meaning

The arms date from the late 14th century and were granted by the city of Erfurt. The city had bought the village in 1385. The arms show the wheel of Erfurt at the time (with 8 spokes), in the colours of the Teutonic Order and with the crest of the former Lords of Vargula.
