Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on October 14, 1994.

The arms show the local church, with in the base a cross for St. George, the patron saint of the church.

All local seals, known from 1674 until the 19th century, all show the local church, but with a linden tree. In 1994 it was decided not to include the tree, but to add the cross to distinguish the arms from other arms with a church.
