Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on December 3, 1990.
The division of the shield symbolises the four villages in the municipality; Schönweide, Grebin, Görnitz and Behl. The beech-leaves are canting; the name is derived from the Slavic word for beech. Beeches were also planted in pre-historic times on the small burial mounds, that still can be found in the area. One of these is represented by the ring of stones in the arms.
