GRAFENHAUSEN

State : Baden-Württemberg
District (Kreis) : Ortenaukreis (until 1973 Lahr)
Incorporated into: 1974 Kappel-Grafenhausen

Wappen von Grafenhausen (Kappel-Grafenhausen)/Arms (crest) of Grafenhausen (Kappel-Grafenhausen)
Official blazon
German In Blau auf grünem Boden ein silbern gekleideter Engel mit silbernen Flügeln, die Hände auf zwei schräggekreuzte schwarze Leisten gestützt.
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially designed and adopted in 1907.

The arms are based on the seal of the village from 1650, known from 1701 onwards, but with a description "Sigill des Dorffs Grefenhausen 1650" indicating the date.

The meaning of the angel and saltire is not known.
