Origin/meaning

The arms were officially designed and adopted in 1907.

The arms are based on the seal of the village from 1650, known from 1701 onwards, but with a description "Sigill des Dorffs Grefenhausen 1650" indicating the date.

The meaning of the angel and saltire is not known.
