Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on November 6, 1984.

The arms combine elements from three important families in the local history. The two silver bends in the chief are taken from the arms of the Seemann family, who ruled the Gottfrieding Estate in the 14th and 15th century, The bend in the lower right half is taken from the arms of the Counts von Ortenburg, the successors of the Seeman family. In 1637 the estate became a possession of the Aldersbach Abbey. The arms of the abbey, a point over a small hill, are shown in the lower left half.
