  • (personal arms) : Über natürlichen Wellen ein natürlicher Berg, über­ höht von zwei goldenen Sternen.

Origin/meaning

The personal arms show a mountain, which can be seen as a canting symbol (Stein=stone). The mountain may also symbolise Mount Zion and the three mountains combined may also indicate the holy trinity. The meaning ofthe stars is not known, but may have some Biblical reference.

In Würzbug he either used his personal arms, or he combined the arms with those of the diocese. In München he always quartered his arms with the diocesan arms, as shown above.
