ENNIGERLOH

State : Nordrhein-Westfalen
District (Kreis) : Warendorf (until 1974 Beckum)
Additions : 1975 Amt Beelen (partly), Enniger, Ostenfelde, Westkirche

Wappen von Ennigerloh/Arms (crest) of Ennigerloh
Official blazon
German blazon wanted
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted in 1955.

The arms show three scallops, both as a symbol for the patron saint, St. James, and as a symbol for the fossilised shells that can be found in the municipality. The colour green is taken as a canting element, loh meaning forest.

Literature: Stadler, 1964-1971, 8 volumes.
