EIDFJORD

Province : [{Vestland]] (until 2020 Hordaland)

Arms (crest) of Eidfjord

Official blazon

På blå grunn eit sølv reinsdyrgevir.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on July 13, 1984.

The arms show a reindeer antler, as the first known settlers in the area were reindeer hunters. The reindeer has been of importance for the population for many centuries. The antler also symbolises the rivers that run from the mountain into the fjord.
