EGESHEIM

State : Baden-Württemberg
District (Kreis) : Tuttlingen

Wappen von Egesheim/Arms (crest) of Egesheim
Official blazon
German

In Rot eine schräglinks gestellte silberne Egge, oben rechts ein sechsstrahliger goldener Stern.

English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on January 10, 1958.

The harrow in the arms is a symbol for the importance of agriculture in the municipality. It can also be considered a canting symbol (Egge=harrow), and already appeared on the local seal from 1747. The silver and red colours are those of the former County Hohenberg, to which Egesheim historically belonged. The star was added as a symbol for St. Mary, the local patron saint.
