Origin/meaning :
The arms were granted on February 19, 1951.

The arms are the arms of the Walckiers family, Lords of Drongen in the 18th century. They were the last Lords of Drongen and their arms also appeared on the seal of the council. The falcons area canting element (Val(c)k is falcon in Dutch).
