Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on January 17, 1994.

The fish in the upper half is a canting symbol for the historical Amt Fischbach to which the area belonged. The base shows the arms of the Kingdom of Sachsen and the cross of the State of Fulda, as both owned part of the municipality in historical times.
