Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on June 10, 2010.

The arms are based on the arms of the former Verwaltungsgemeinschaft Calvörde, to which most of the former municipalities belonged.

The bend is the Mittellandkanal, the willow and oak branches refer to the forests and nature in the municipality.

The previous arms were officially granted on December 10, 1993.

These arms are known since the 16th century from the local seals. The lion is the lion of the State of Braunschweig, to which the area historically belonged. The three hops are a symbol for the cultivation of hops for many centuries in the region.
