BUSKERUD PROVINCE

Arms (crest) of Buskerud

Official blazon

På sølv bunn en opprett blå bjørn.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on April 1, 1966.

The bear is a symbol for the many forests and rich nature in the province in which bears were common. The colours symbolise the silver industry in Kongsberg and the blue paint factory in Modum.
