BRAY-LÈS-MAREUIL

Département : Somme

Blason de Bray-lès-Mareuil

Official blason

  • (fr) De sinople au héron d'argent, becqué en membré d'or, accosté de deux coquilles d'or ; au chef d'argent chargé de trois fleurs de lis au pied nourri de gueules.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially adopted on June 2, 2006.

The demi-fleur-de-lis are taken from the arms of the Carpentin family, lords of Bray from 1480 to 1660. The shells are taken from the coat of arms of Louis Le Canu of La Jonquière de Bray, the last lord of the village in the 18th century.

The heron symbolizes the marshes of the Somme valley.
