Origin/meaning

The arms were registered on March 18, 2003.

The base of the arms with two black bars is taken from the arms of the Lords of Bořitov, used since the 15th century by the family. The two towers are taken from the seal of the village, known since the late 14th century. The composition was used on the village seals until the 19th century. It is not clear whether the symbol was ever used as arms and thus the colours are not known.

Seal of Bořitov

19th century seal

Between the towers a dragon, pierced by a spear, is placed. This is the symbol of St. Gerorge, the local patron saint. The banner on the spear symbolises the saint.
