Benzingen had no historical arms or seals and the arms were designed by the State Archives in Sigmaringen in 1947.

The wings in the upper half are taken from the arms on the seals of the medieval Lords of Benzingen from the 12th century. The lower half shows the three deer antlers fro the arms of their successors, the Counts of Veringen. They ruled the village in the 13th and 14th century. In 1577 the village became part of the County Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen.
As there colours of the arms of the Von Benzingen family were not known, the upper half was designed in the opposite colours of the lower half.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on January 28, 1949.
