Official blazon

D'azur, à deux clefs d'or, adossées, posées en sautoir, accompagnées en pointe d'un navet au naturel.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on June 15, 1853.

The arms are based on the seal of the local council form the 18th century. The seal showed the two crossed keys, symbol for St. Peter, the patron saint of the village, and the beet of the Waasland region. For the history of the beet, see Sint-Niklaas.
