Wappen von Bad Steben

Official blazon

  • (de) In Blau ein silberner Brunnentempel, in dem aus einem goldenen Becken eine silberne, von dem goldenen Großbuchstaben R überhöhte Fontäne emporsteigt.

Origin/meaning

The town developed rapidly around the local bath and spa. Since 1810 the town uses a fountain in its seals. On May 16, 1871 the arms were granted by King Ludwig II, the fountain placed in a temple, as the main source is named the Tempelquelle. In 1953 the letter R was added to the arms. The R stands for the radium in the water, which is characteristic for the baths. The colours are the Bavarian colours, as no historical colours were known.

Wappen von Bad Steben
