BÜSINGEN AM HOCHRHEIN
State : Baden-Württemberg
District (Kreis) : Konstanz
German | In rot bordiertem silbernen Schild an grünem Rebast mit zwei grünen Blättern eine blaue Weintraube. |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
Büsingen is a German exclave in the Swiss canton of Schaffhausen. The oldest seal of the town dates from 1811 and shows a knife surrounded by grape leaves. In 1830 a new seal was used that showed the arms of Baden surrounded by several farming tools and two wheat sheaves.
The present arms were devised and adopted in 1904. The grapes indicate the importance of viticulture in the area. The bordure symbolises the Swiss country surrounding the municipality.
