District : Innsbruck-Land

Origin/meaning :
The arms were officially granted on January 22, 1974.

The flax flower in the base symbolises the formerly important flax culture in the region. The point is a canting element, the name is of Celtic origin and probably means 'place on high lands'.

Literature : Köfler and Beimrohr, 1995
