ARMAVIR (Армавир)

Federal subject : Krasnodar Krai
District (Rayon) : Armavir urban district

Arms of/Герб Armavir

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on October 20, 2005.

The blue chief and pale refer to the confluence of the two rivers where Armavir is located. The tows was for a very long time famous for its sunflower oil, hence the sunflower in the top of the arms. The caduceus is a symbol for trade and the importance of the city as a trading centre.

The previous arms were adopted on February 27, 1974.

Arms of/Герб Armavir

The arms showed the name of the city and a ring made of wheat (for agriculture) and a cogwheel (for industry).
