Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on April 16, 1974.

The arms show the arms of the Lords of Alfter, who lived in the village in the Middle Ages. The diamonds in the head are added and are taken from the seal of the village of Witterschlick. The number indicates the five former municipalities.
