Origin/meaning :
The arms were granted on April 27, 1965.
The chequered base refers to the former Sponheim county, to which the municipality belonged. The bucket symbolises the former iron factory in the village, which was operated from the 17th-19th century. The wheat-ears symbolise the present agricultural character of the municipality.
