ARDNING

State : Steiermark
District : Liezen

Ardning.jpg

Origin/meaning :
The arms were granted on January 21st, 1980.

The village lies near the border between the Austrian states of Upper Austria and Styria. The motorway, the highroad and the railway to the Pyhrn pass are crossing the municipality. These important traffic links are symbolised by the silver bar. The sundew (Drosera sp.) plant stands for the moors at Pürgschachen, the fleur-de-lis for Frauenberg church, a place of pilgrimage in the Ennstal.
