Escudo de negro, um canto encimado por uma cruz apontada, tudo de prata, filetado-ondeado de verde e contornado de empedrado vermelho, acompanhado em chefe de duas águias estendidas de prata, armadas e bicadas de ouro, brocante sobre o canto, um barco moliceiro de negro, realçado de vermelho e enfunado de prata. Coroa mural de prata de três torres. Listel branco com a legenda a negro: “ VERA CRUZ - AVEIRO “.

The arms were officially granted on October 11, 1997.
