Langerwisch
LANGERWISCH
State : Brandenburg
District (Kreis) : Potsdam-Mittelmark
Additions: 1938 Alt Langerwisch, Neu Langerwisch
Incorporated into : 2003 Michendorf
The municipality did not use official arms.
In 1936 the municipality of Alt Langenwisch applied for arms to the heraldic office in Berlin. The arms were supposed to be canting, the name means Long-meadow. It is not know what happened with the application and no warms were granted. The municipality merged in 1938 to Langenwisch.
The new municipality never officially applied for arms, but the local seal used in 1947 and 1949 shows a seal, with a bunch of straw (?) under a scythe and hammer, see below. During DDR times the seal was no longer used.
In 1991 the municipality had a new seal approved showing the a windmill, symbolising the three windmills in the municipality. This seal was never converted to proper arms though.
