Origin/meaning
The ram's head (from the sinister supporter of the Arms of British Columbia) and the green field draw on the heritage of the previous Canadian Army Western Command. The ears of wheat recall the prairies and were also a part of the Western Command badge. Badge approved by the Canadian Heraldic Authority on January 1, 1998 and the old version on February 1, 1994.
