Hisotry: First formed in 1939 at Royal Naval Air Station Hatston (HMS Sparrowhawk), Orkney Islands as a Shorebased Fighter Squadron. Reformed at Wingfield, South Africa 1944-1945 as a Fighter Squadron with Grumman Hellcats.
