MONCALE

Département : Corse

Blason de Moncale
Official blazon
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially adopted in May 2012.

The blue background represents the Mediterranean and the symbolic color of the Virgin Mary, Queen of Corsica. The wavy bar represents the Figarella river. The castle recalls the stately home overlooking the village. The three golden besants (discs) refer both to the village of Moca (or Muca means lentil) as well as to the three founding families: Dary, Alfonsi and Maraninchi.
