District (Kreis) : Straubing-Bogen (until 1973 Mallersdorf)
Incorporated into : 1972 Mallersdorf-Pfaffenberg

Wappen von Mallersdorf/Arms (crest) of Mallersdorf
Official blazon
German blazon wanted
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on December 14, 1886 and are taken from the arms of the local Benedictine Abbey. The eagle of St. John, the patron saint of the abbey, was used on seals of the abbey since 1495.

In 1938 it was attempted to remove the silver nimbus around the head as well as the lettering, but the town never changed the arms.
