Origin/meaning
The arms were devised in 1958 and show in the upper part the main agricultural crops, wheat and grapes. The lower part shows a hook, which was already used in the 18th century in local arms. It's origin is not known.
The seals of the town never showed arms or images related to the present arms; but showed St. Mauritius. Based on this, the original proposal for arms in 1958 showed a moor's head (the symbol of St.Mauritius) as well as a cross (of Worms). The municipality finally decided on the present arms.
